A US Navy jet crashed into the ocean near San Diego on Wednesday morning. The aircraft, identified as an E/A-18G Growler, had two pilots on board. Fortunately, both were rescued by a fishing boat named Premiere before being transferred to a Customs and Border Protection vessel. The pilots were taken to a hospital and are in stable condition.
Petty Officer Christopher Sappey, a spokesperson for the US Coast Guard, said the wreckage is being secured with the help of two other vessels. Authorities have not yet provided details about the cause of the crash.

This incident comes after a series of deadly plane crashes in the US. On January 29, an American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter near Washington’s Ronald Reagan National Airport, killing all 67 people on board.
